Cilento is the region bordered by Campania in the north, Basilicata
in the south east and the Thyrrhenean Sea in the west.
The countryside is characterized the green forest, with its chestnut
and Ilex trees, and ash grey coloured olive tree orchards and the
mounteneous and hilly structure of the fascinating countryside with
rivers cutting through the area creating the marvelous gorges.
The region also has the second largest National Park bordering
with the Apennines, Thyrrhenean Sea and Basilicata.
The mountain area has peaks like Cervati and Gelbison and at the
coast the Monte Bulgheria and Monte Stella.
The villages are mostly built on the top of the hills or against the
steep edges and the area is nort very high populated.
The Cilento kitchen offers you the local specialities with the white
fig, the very known olive oil “ Olio d’Oliva Extravergine Cilento DOP”,
the artichockes from the Agropoli area, where you find Paestum,
with its remains of the temples andd the very nice sandy beaches.
It is a paradise for the people who like good wine and food.
The region has a few places excellent suited for weddings and we
